smoky homemade baked beans

Delicious, hearty homemade baked beans made with all natural ingredients. 

 

With a moreish smoky, rich flavour, these beans are fantastic on toast, in wraps, as a side or why not try them smothered on top of a jacket sweet potato with our cheesy vegan chile con queso on top?  Winter comfort food at it’s best!

 

ingredients

 

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 red onion, chopped

3 cloves of garlic, minced

800g tinned beans (mixed beans work well or kidney, cannellini etc)

400g tinned tomatoes

2 tbsp coconut sugar

3 tbsp tomato puree

1 tsp smoked paprika

2 tbsp coconut aminos

 

 

Prep:  5 minutes

Cook:  5 minutes

Serves:  8

 

1.  Melt the coconut oil in a saucepan.

 

2.  Fry the chopped onion and garlic for 5 minutes in the coconut oil, until soft.

 

3.  Add the rest of the ingredients.

 

4.  Cook for 5 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.
